Exclusive Screening in North Carolina

North Carolina Outward Bound School presents an Exclusive Screening of Women Outward Bound on November 14 at 7:15pm at Theater Charlotte (501 Queens Road, Charlotte 28207). WOB director Maxine W. Davis will be there for the Q&A.

Congratulations Jean Replinger!

Yesterday, June 13, Diann Darnell of Women Who Dared from Fairbanks Alaska presented Jean Replinger with the 2018 Women who Dared award for her role in establishing an Outward Bound Program for Women in the BWCA in 1965 and for people with disabilities in 1976. The crown of 90+ people gave her a standing ovation.

At the event there were present  five other women who participated in the inaugural program in the BWCA in 1965 and who are in our documentary. They chatted with everyone  after the screening and shared how the outward bound experience influenced their lives.

"Women Outward Bound" is being broadcasted on Pioneer Public Television on Thursday, June 14 at 8 p.m.

Jean Replinger honored with the "Women Who Dared Award"

We are delighted to announce that on June 13 Women Outward Bound will screen at the Marshal Lyon County Library. The event will include a ceremony to honor Marshall resident Jean Sanford Replinger with the 2018 Women Who Dared Gratitude Award for creating the first Outward Bound program for women in 1965 and for establishing the first Outward Bound program for persons with disabilities in 1976.  Some of the women featured in the documentary will participate in a discussion following the screening.

TPT - Twin Cities PBS WOB viewing party - an inspirational evening

On March 20, 2018 TPT - Twin Cities PBS hosted a 'Women Outward Bound' viewing party at their studios during the LIVE broadcast. The whole team behind the 'Women Outward Bound' documentary was there, director Maxine Davis, cinematographer/editor Nick Clausen and producer/writer Melody Gilbert and a couple of the women who participated in the first all-women OB in 1965.

Philadelphia Outward Bound Event

In honor of International Women's Day, Philadelphia Outward Bound School celebrated the day with a film screening of Women Outward Bound. Director Maxine Davis was part of the after-screening panel along with Jayla Lewis (POBS Alumna), Cheryl Logan (Chief Academic Officer at The School District of Philadelphia), and Katie Newsom Pastuszek (Executive Director of Philadelphia Outward Bound School).

Women Outward Bound on ALMANAC (TPT)

Women Outward Bound director Maxine Davis and former WOB participant Cathy Crowson were on ALMANAC on Friday, March 16 talking about their Outward Bound experience and how they made history up north in 1965 by being the first women to participate in the Outward Bound Wilderness School.

March is going to be an eventful month for Women Outward Bound. Starting March 1st, just in time for Women's History Month, our documentary is going to be broadcasted on 273 public television stations across the country!

Also, many other organizations are hosting their own screenings like Philadelphia Outward Bound School who on March 8th at 7pm at the WHYY is hosting a FREE screening of Women Outward Bound with director Maxine W. Davis in attendance!

Dear All!

We enter 2018 with wonderful news for Women Outward Bound! First of all, best wishes for a healthy and happy year, may 2018 be an amazing year for you!

We are happy to announce that Women Outward Bound  (WOB) will broadcast on 273 Public Television Stations around the country. American Public Television, who is representing the documentary, notes many stations may broadcast it in March — Women's History Month.

We thank everyone of you for supporting WOB. After screenings in more than a dozen Film Festivals and other venues, Women Outward Bound will now be seen by viewers around the country.  Check your local public stations for date and time of broadcast.
